Margaret
("Minnie" Francis) Nunez is one of the
original North Shore Flairs from 1985. She
worked her way to Level 9 before retiring, winning
numerous championship titles along the way.
Minnie's entire family have been instrumental to
the success of the North Shore program.
During the first "lean" years of the
Flairs existence, her parents offered a loan which
aided the ownership in moving the Flairs team from
the crowded 4,000 square foot space to our current
29,000 "state of the art" facility.
In addition, her brother, Sam Francis was part of
"MJ's" original boys team and now coaches
football for St. Paul.
After
attending college and working for several years as
a massage therapist, Minnie decided to return to
her first love...GYMNASTICS! In 2005, she
married Ryan Nunez who is a registered nurse and is
working on his masters degree. She has been
coaching competitive gymnastics for the last twelve
years and returned home to North Shore Gymnastics
after a move to St. Tammany Parish.
Minnie
is responsible for most of the Flairs
organizational duties and does the beam
choreography for the optional team. She has
coached gymnasts to both regional and national
competitions. Her fun loving personality and
sense of humor is combined with an appreciation of
the discipline required to succeed in gymnastics
and causes her to be a great role model for all
around her.
