Bruce
is a native New Orleanian who began gymnastics
at the age of 10. He was a former Junior
National AAU, YMCA,NAIA, NCAA and USAG National
Champion. Bruce was an elite competitor
for six years, a Silver Medalist on Floor and
7th All Around at the 1972 Championships of the
United States. He also competed in the
1972 Olympic Trials.
Bruce
has been coaching for 40 years and was formerly
owner/director/head coach of a private club in
Atlanta for 20 years. After moving back to
the New Orleans area, he coached at the YMCA and
at Elmwood. Bruce became a valued member
of the North Shore Flairs coaching staff in
2007. Bruce primarily works with vault,
bars and tumbling.
